I am pleased to announce that registration for Spousetivities is now open! If you have already registered, thank you! If you haven’t registered, I encourage you to register now.

One quick note: I have seen several people that have signed up only for the breakfast. This is completely fine; our Get to Know You breakfasts are always great fun. There is one thing I need to point out, though: if you plan to participate in other events as well, you cannot register for those at the breakfast. All registrations MUST be done in advance. Due to the size and popularity of Spousetivities, I have to sign contracts in advance and once they are full, I can’t add people at the last minute. So please register now so that you can maximize your time while keeping the budget under control.

The cooking classes are starting to fill up so if that interests you, don’t delay. All four nights will be different cuisine so feel free to register for more than one. The Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and Lake Mead are all generating a ton of interest as well.

I have been working hard on obtaining additional sponsors to continue to make Spousetivities affordable and offer the famous vWife t-shirts, gift bags, and giveaways. We now have 6 great sponsors on board! Please make sure to thank eGroup, EMC,  HP, HyTrust, Train Signal, and VMUG. I am also in negotiations with three other companies that are interested in supporting our events. I am so grateful to our sponsors and appreciate all they have done to make Spousetivities what it is today.

So what are you waiting for? Spousetivities always promises great activities with great people so go ahead and get that registration done so you can sit back and count down the days until we all head to Vegas to see old friends and make some new ones while enjoying cooking classes, river cruises, and scenic tours!

Looking forward to the activities as well as getting more information about them!

Will there be any correspondence about the breakfast and the specific events you’ve signed up for (location, time to meet, etc.) prior to the breakfast on Monday? Since this is my first time (YAY!), I’m curious and just plain nosy 🙂 Thanks!

    Jana,

I will be forwarding additional information this week including specific spa rules. Each participant will receive a list of the activities for which they have registered as well. I’m happy to have you join us at Spousetivities this year! 🙂

Is anyone else bringing their children? Are kids allowed on the tours and are the prices the same? I’m bringing a 2 and 4 year old. (I’m crazy.) I’m also finding some other activities around town that will be kid friendly if others want to join us.

Amy – Yes, there are others bringing children. The tours are the same price for children over two. The Grand Canyon is only $8 for 2 and under. I’ll check on the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead tours. There is a great indoor trampoline park in Las Vegas. If you search for kid activities, there is plenty to do in the area. I look forward to meeting you!

    Hi Amy –
There is a zoo not to far from the part of Vegas where the conf is held (we’re staying at TI – soooo much cheaper). My hubby & I love Vegas for the walking & stuff – no gambling or drinking and we always! have a great time. The Dolphin Habitat & Secret Garden at Mirage is fantastic. The lions at MGM are cool too – yes there is a theme here; love the animals.

hi, any chance to add the walking tour on 29 Aug and grand canyon tour on 30 Aug. we have missed the registration and it is fully booked now.

    crystal · August 15, 2011 at 5:06 pm

I just added some spots for the Grand Canyon on the 30th. There was a price increase as sponsor money can only go so far, but it is still a great value for what you get. You will still be with our group as well. Children under 2 do not have to pay for the bus, but the Dam charges $8 that you can pay upon arrival. I am planning on adding another walking tour on Monday as well. Stay tuned!

I will def be keeping an eye out for added walking tours… would really like to do one early in the week to get ‘oriented’ to the area. The one thing I hate about vacations is that by the time I figure out where everything is, it’s time to go home 🙂

Jen · August 8, 2011 at 11:07 am

Is there any chance that additional walking tours early in the week might be added? I see that they are still available Thursday, but that is the only day I can’t do anything as my husband is in only two things on Thursday, so he will have some time to hang out with me that day….

    crystal · August 10, 2011 at 9:42 pm

    Jen,

I may add tours if everything fills up but I don’t have guides for additional tours. Keep checking the site for updates. New tours will be added over the weekend if I do indeed add tours.

      Jen · August 12, 2011 at 11:14 am

I signed up for the Grand Canyon tour — was sort of on the fence about whether I wanted to do a 12 hour trip or not, but in the end my husband said if I didn’t do it he would log in and sign me up anyway lol. I also signed up for a walking tour thursday as he has something from 1030-1130. Can you give me an idea of how long the walking tours typically take?

        crystal · August 13, 2011 at 1:22 am

Hi Jen! I like your husband’s style. 🙂 The walking tours can last as long as you’d like. Generally, we all leave together but as the day moves forward we end up splitting into smaller groups and some have other commitments and return to their rooms or go to meet their spouses. You are free to break off whenever you’d like. You can always grab a monorail or bus to get back quickly so it doesn’t take long. Also, you can ask others if they’d like to go back so you won’t have to be alone. Hope this helps! See you very soon.

Looking to sign up my girlfriend. What are the times for events. Im specifically looking at the Monday breakfast and Tuesday Grand Canyon tour.

    crystal · July 21, 2011 at 10:02 am

Hi Matt! The breakfast will start at 9:00 or 10:00 AM. I say either of those because I am still working on the final details and have to accommodate the schedule of the venue. The Grand Canyon tour will depart at 8:00 AM. This is a 12 hour trip so I want to offer a reasonable schedule. The public tour departs at 6:30 or 7:00 AM. I think 8 – 8 is much more reasonable. I hope this helps. I look forward to meeting your girlfriend in a few weeks!

Erin · July 11, 2011 at 6:33 pm

Thank you for all of your work in doing this – this is my first time going to a conference with my husband and I was worried about getting bored. I’m looking forward to meeting some other significant others!

    crystal · July 12, 2011 at 1:03 am

Erin – It is my pleasure! I look forward to meeting you in Las Vegas and I know you’ll have a great time. If you haven’t already registered, make sure you do before the activities fill up!
