Spouse Activities Update 2
Aug 10th
I wanted to send this out so that everyone could stay up to date on the progress of the plans for this year at VMworld. Due to reservation requirements, we have had to cancel a couple of tours, but rest assured, those have been replaced with other exciting events. For the latest registration information, please visit the Spousetivities registration site. Make sure to register for the free breakfast and t-shirt while you are there. All of these activities are family friendly, except possibly the wine tour, which may not interest younger children.
If you are interested in the Alcatraz/Angel Island tour, More >

After a lot of hard work and planning and with the help of Cynthia, I am ready to take the registration site live! Thanks to our corporate sponsors–EMC, Train Signal, and HyTrust–I am pleased to offer Early Bird Discounts for early registrations. Your discount depends on the number of tours for which you register. This means the more you choose, the more you save. Some tours are offered more than once so that you can create an itinerary that fits into your schedule. Be sure to check out the private lunches; many are memorable experiences in their own right and More >
Making it Happen!
May 29th
Now is a great time to recognize some very important people. Who are these very important people? Why, they are the sponsors for Spousetivities 2010!
Thanks to our wonderful sponsors, the activities this year will be outstanding! So who are the companies that are reaching out beyond just the attendees but also to their families? So far I have three fabulous companies that have jumped on board to support Spousetivities.
Wine Country, Houseboats, and Segways, Oh My!
May 4th
Hello everyone! I wanted to give you a little peek into the plans I am working on for this year’s Spousetivities! And just for the record, this is for the guys and the gals. Last year I was also asked if boyfriends, girlfriends, and significant others could attend or if it was married couples only. Everyone is welcome!
How does a day touring houseboats on the bay sound? Or what about spending the day on beautiful Angel Island, complete with a Segway or tram tour of the island followed by lunch and a ferry ride over to Alcatraz for a tour of More >
Your Request Did Not Go Unheard
May 1st
OK folks, I’ve been working hard to get plans underway for VMworld 2010 Spousetivities. One comment I heard a lot last year was that it would be nice to have plans for couples before and/or after the event. Well, those requests did not fall on deaf ears!
I currently have an opportunity for couples to visit Hearst Castle, Monterey, and Carmel during an amazing overnight trip for two. This trip will include the famous 17 Mile Drive, a private tour of Carmel Mission, an ocean view room at the Best Western Cavalier Resort, private dinner on Friday, and relaxing breakfast on More >
VMworld 2008 and VMworld 2009
Apr 27th
As I prepare for VMworld 2010 and the third year of spouse activities, I thought it might be fun to take a look back at activities from previous years. While reviewing pictures from the activities during the past two years, I find myself getting excited all over again. I’m really looking forward to making this year’s activities better than ever!
Some of you might be wondering about the origins of the term “spousetivities”. Clearly, the term is a combination of the words “spouse” and “activities”. Last year, Joep Piscaer (one of the VMworld attendees) coined the term and registered the domain for More >

The Spousetivites web site is live! Spouse activities planning for VMworld US 2010 as well as VMworld EMEA 2010 has already started. I’ve already started lining up activities for San Francisco, with a special focus on including activites for people who have already been to San Francisco as well as activities for those new to the area. Hopefully I’ll have a wide range of activities to suit everyone’s interests. There’s still time for you to add your ideas to the mix! Speak up in the comments to add your ideas to the list of possible activities for VMworld US 2010 More >
