Another Look at Why It’s a Great Idea to Sponsor Spousetivities
Apr 1st
As I am approaching 5 years of offering Spousetivities at IT events, the questions about what I do and why are swirling in my head. Many people ask why companies sponsor Spousetivities. Below is part of a post from last year detailing why it is so important that the community continue to sponsor these events.
Naturally, I’m a bit biased, but I think that sponsoring Spousetivities is a great way for companies to say “Thank You” and give something back to their employees and customers. When a company hosts a conference, they ultimately expect attendees to give up as much as More >
Let’s do it Again!
Mar 31st
Last year was fabulous, so let’s do it again this year! Spousetivities is coming to EMC World again in 2012. If you are going to EMC World, you won’t want to leave your family and or friends behind. If your spouse, partner, or significant other is going to EMC World, you simply won’t want to stay behind! There will be activities for everyone.
The spa was a huge hit last year so once again, Spousetivities participants will be able to enjoy Canyon Ranch Spa at discounted rates. There will also be a visit to do some wine tasting. And did I mention that More >
VMware PEX 2012
Jan 18th
Can you say, “WOW!”? 2011 was an incredible year for Spousetivities (post about that coming soon), but 2012 looks to be even better. Spousetivities is kicking the year off in style with activities at VMware Partner Exchange (PEX). As many of you know, PEX is being held in Las Vegas at the Venetian Hotel and Resort. The official dates are February 13th – 16th. Most of you will pick up right away that those dates overlap Valentine’s Day. No worries, just take your sweetie with you! Spousetivities will be offered February 14th – 16th.

Jul 10th
I am pleased to announce that registration for Spousetivities is now open! If you have already registered, thank you! If you haven’t registered, I encourage you to register now.

There is one thing I need to point out, though: if you plan to participate in other events as well, you cannot register for those at the breakfast. All registrations MUST be done in advance. Due to the size and popularity of More >
Why Sponsor Spousetivities?
Jun 1st
With spouse activities for EMC World 2011 behind me and VMworld US 2011 right around the corner, I’m actively seeking additional sponsors for Spousetivities. So the question naturally arises: why should I sponsor Spousetivities?
Naturally, I’m a bit biased, but I think that sponsoring Spousetivities is a great way for companies to say “Thank You” and give something back to their employees and customers. When a company hosts a conference, they ultimately expect attendees to give up as much as a week of their time to come hear about their products and how these products or services can benefit them and More >

Travel Safety
Oct 4th
With all the media attention surrounding Americans being warned about travel in Europe, I felt it appropriate to do some research and post my findings here. While nobody is truly safe anywhere these days–including driving to the office each day or sending our children to school–there are some things that travelers in general can do to make their experience a little safer and thus, more relaxing.
- Use common sense. For example, if there is a package with nobody nearby, walk away and notify authorities. It might be nothing, but it is always better to choose caution.
- Be aware of your surroundings. Don’t be More >
VMworld 2010 Copenhagen
Sep 7th
With the US events wrapped up and considered an amazing success, it is time to finish the planning and promotion of Spousetivities for the VMworld 2010 EMEA event. Our sponsors for the US events are also our sponsors for the EMEA events so I’d like to say thank you to HyTrust, Train Signal, and EMC for making these activities possible.
For those of you unfamiliar with Spousetivities, let me give you a brief idea of what this program is and how it came to be. I began Spousetivities three years ago so that my husband would not feel obligated to rush through labs, More >
